The Lorraine Dorner Foundation Scholarship was founded in memory of Lorraine Dorner whose energy, strength and encouragement always given to anyone who had a goal, a game plan and motivation to execute it. We, like her, believe that no person who is capable of higher education should be denied the opportunity.

We recognize that many of the students in our community will be adversely affected by state, federal and local policies such as changes in immigration laws that limit support needed to attend an institution of higher learning.  The daily reality for others forced the to balance their educational goals with the economic realities of their family.

    The Lorraine Dorner Foundation was created to help address some of these challenges.  This fund was established and is maintained with the help of donations from family and friends. This fund will be available to High school seniors who face financial adversity that threatens their access to continued educational opportunities. Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript from their current high school confirming good academic standing, along with a letter on school stationery affirming their financial need. A copy of their acceptance letter from the institution of higher learning he/she is expecting to attend is also recommended! We will announce recipients January 2019!
